The Rowing World cup was formed in 1997. As an annual competition, it comprises of three international regattas per year. For every regatta that takes place, the nation who scores the most points is appointed as winner of the Rowing World Cup Leading Nation.
A Rowing World Cup Champion is then allocated throughout each boat class. The nation with the most point over all three regattas wins.
